About the Role
Schedule: Monday, Thursday, Friday pick up after school 3:15pm-4:30pm.
Client is a 9-year-old girl. She needs trans-friendly worker. She has fetal alcohol syndrome. She has great communication and is smart, but certain things she has a really hard time understanding. She is physically able to do things but struggles cognitively with executive dysfunction, an inability to keep track of time, getting distracted by sensory inputs, getting dysregulated, etc. Overall, she needs someone to guide her through things, to help her remember the steps of her routines and to keep the house and her personal spaces clean and safe (including helping her with hygiene, tidying up throughout the day, eating, doing bathroom tasks, etc.) DSP needs to not be timid. Needs to be someone who can be patient and understanding, who won't take the client's reactions personally or see it as willful defiance. Someone who can be flexible with the routine as best as possible depending on the day.
Requirements
Daily Requirements:
Scheduling – each DSP has a set schedule with the assigned client(s)
Smart phone – use a cell phone to clock in/out for visits and complete the daily progress notes.
Patient, Kind and Positive – caring for clients with disabilities requires someone who can be patient, support the client through kindness and understanding, and provide positive reinforcement throughout the shift.
Driving – depending on the client, they may need to be driven to community events or appointments. Valid license and insurance required if driving will be needed.
Support – develop and maintain positive working relationships with the assigned client(s), their families and the FRR Support Manager
