About the Role
Schedule: Mon/Fri after school, around 3:30pm-flexible evening time, Wednesday 1:30pm-flexible evening time and Saturdays any time after 11am.
15-year-old boy. The parents would like a male DSP that is very patient and knows about Autism, PDA (pathological demand avoidance) in particular. FRR has a recorded training video we can share about PDA as well. They would like a DSP that is vaccinated for COVID and has their own transportation. DSP would be picking him up from school in Sherwood, then driving him home to SE Portland** once he is comfortable with DSP. The client loves video games and all things computers. They try to limit his time on devices during the day which can be hard. He has a paddle board and would like a DSP to go paddle boarding with in the summer. In general, the family hopes to find a DSP who will encourage him to try activities outside of the home that are not screen based. The family has a binder of info on self-regulation, the DSP should get familiar with the binder and go over the info with the client during shifts so he can practice those things while in a regulated state, so hopefully he will one day be able to regulate himself a little better. **Drive to Sherwood is unpaid until client is in the car and no mileage reimbursement available.
