About the Role

Schedule: After school, before school, and/or weekend shifts would be helpful. Flexible if DSP maintains set schedule. Any hours outside of school hours (8am-2:30pm).

Description: Client is a 6-year-old girl. She is nonverbal and non-mobile. She needs support with all ADLs/IADLs - including diaper changes, medication administration, dressing, hygiene, feeding, and potty training. She is very sociable and would like to participate in activities out in the community. She also loves Disney movies.
Requirements: DSP must be able to safely lift and transfer the client. She weighs 50lbs. DSP must be able to provide transportation for medical appointments and have G-tube experience.

Requirements

Daily Requirements: 

  • Scheduling – each DSP has a set schedule with the assigned client(s) 

  • Smart phone – use a cell phone to clock in/out for visits and complete the daily progress notes. 

  • Patient, Kind and Positive – caring for clients with disabilities requires someone who can be patient, support the client through kindness and understanding, and provide positive reinforcement throughout the shift. 

  • Driving – depending on the client, they may need to be driven to community events or appointments.  Valid license and insurance required if driving will be needed.  

  • Support – develop and maintain positive working relationships with the assigned client(s), their families and the FRR Support Manager
