About the Role
Schedule: Every other Friday 8am- 6pm, Saturday 8am- 6pm and Sunday 8am- 2pm.
This client is an 8-year-old girl. She is nonverbal but has learned some sign language and is learning more. She goes to school with a nurse, but not on Fridays. She is very active and likes to do many different things. When the weather is nice, she loves to go on walks and to the park. She has a g-tube, and the DSP would be asked to help with suctioning and g-tube feeding. Experience with a g-tube is nice but not required if the DSP is willing to learn. DSP will also be asked to assist with bathing the client. She knows how to use the bathroom but needs assistance. She has a trach and will require suctioning and breathing treatments.
The DSP needs to be COVID vaccinated and wear a mask while with this client. The DSP also needs to be female. Lastly, this client needs a DSP who is very active and will do things with her, not just sitting most of the time. The DSP does not need to drive the client around, as her MIL usually drives, and the DSP could accompany them. The family has 1 cat and 1 small, hypoallergenic dog. The parents will be in the house for most of the shifts but may leave to go to the store or to appointments.
