About the Role
(Sibling of 1F0010G) Schedule: Fridays 4-10pm (start time flexible as long as before 6pm) It would be useful if DSP stays longer occasionally. More hours likely available in summer. Respite/24-hours shifts available once a strong relationship is established.
This 16 year old client is the brother of client #1F0010G. The family is looking for a DSP to work with both brothers and engage with them on their level. They don't want to feel like their DSP is a babysitter. DSP should be more like a friend who helps them achieve their goals. This client is working on building independence in his daily routine, self-care, communication, safety awareness, and emotional self-regulation. He benefits from structured guidance and patient support. An ideal caregiver will be patient, communicative, and supportive while fostering his independence and social skills in a way that builds his confidence. He needs advance notice for transitions, simple/structured instructions to complete tasks, and plenty of community engagement.
