About the Role
Schedule: Any of the following shifts from Monday-Friday 6am-7am & Monday-Friday 3pm-8pm.
This is for an 18yr old boy. The mom is looking for a DSP that can support the client by assisting with outing into the community, prompting social engagement and independence. DSP will need to offer guidance and support with homework. They also need help with daily routines such as hygiene and encourage to clean after himself. He has some behaviors including potential physical aggression, but mom states it's currently only directed at her. Otherwise, he is very shy and kind but does seem to get overwhelmed very easy. The focus should be on building the clients' confidence and providing emotional support.
Requirements
Daily Requirements:
Scheduling - each DSP has a set schedule with the assigned client(s),
Smart phone - use a cell phone to clock in/out for visits and complete the daily progress notes.
Patient, Kind and Positive - caring for clients with disabilities requires someone who can be patient, support the client through kindness and understanding, and provide positive reinforcement throughout the shift.
Driving - depending on the client, they may need to be driven to community events or appointments. Valid license and insurance required if driving will be needed.
Support - develop and maintain positive working relationships with the assigned client(s), their families and the FRR Support Manager.
