Weekends

About the Role

Schedule: Any of the following shifts on Sundays: 7am-3:30pm, 3pm-9/10pm, or all day 7am9pm.

The family needs a DSP who is female. They would like someone who is vaccinated, drives, and has experience/training with ABA therapy. Younger workers preferred but not required. The client is a 9-year-old boy. He is nonverbal. He loves to go out, so the family would like as much of the shift as possible to be spent outside/in the community, such as going to parks and stores. If the weather is bad, they can stay in the home. The shift will include taking the client to church. The family would like the DSP to teach him life skills, such as learning some words and how to communicate. He can use the bathroom, but needs assistance to make sure he wipes well, especially in the community. At home the family uses a bidet, so he isn't as good at using just TP to wipe.

Requirements

  • Daily Requirements:

  • Scheduling - each DSP has a set schedule with the assigned client(s),

  • Smart phone - use a cell phone to clock in/out for visits and complete the daily progress notes.

  • Patient, Kind and Positive - caring for clients with disabilities requires someone who can be patient, support the client through kindness and understanding, and provide positive reinforcement throughout the shift.

  • Driving - depending on the client, they may need to be driven to community events or appointments. Valid license and insurance required if driving will be needed.

  • Support - develop and maintain positive working relationships with the assigned client(s), their families and the FRR Support Manager
