About the Role

Schedule: Around 12pm to 7pm, Monday-Friday (flexible on days and times during the week), and strong need for full days on the weekends (also flexible on timeframe for weekends)

This 16-year-old client (they/them) needs someone to give support as needed with regulation through some emotional states that can result in outbursts of anger and anxiety. They're very into history and will talk at length with DSPs about obscure topics, some of which make other people uncomfortable (misplaced sense of humor), but they can adjust when the DSP says they aren't comfortable with certain topics. The family is flexible on scheduling depending on the DSP's availability. They want a provider who has good chemistry with the client. DSP needs to be vaccinated. Currently, this client is home schooling due to voice problems, but they plan to return to school once healed, which should be around March 1 at the earliest. Once in school, DSP shifts start at 2:30.

Requirements

Daily Requirements:

  • Scheduling – each DSP has a set schedule with the assigned client(s)

  • Smart phone – use a cell phone to clock in/out for visits and complete the daily progress notes.

  • Patient, Kind and Positive – caring for clients with disabilities requires someone who can be patient, support the client through kindness and understanding, and provide positive reinforcement throughout the shift.

  • Driving – depending on the client, they may need to be driven to community events or appointments.  Valid license and insurance required if driving will be needed.

  • Support – develop and maintain positive working relationships with the assigned client(s), their families and the FRR Support Manager
