About the Role
Schedule: Ideally m/w/f, but could be a different combination of weekdays. Hours can be anywhere between 2-9pm. Primarily looking for consistency/reliability, and the family can be flexible/change things as needed. They're also looking for occasional 24-hour relief care shifts on weekends, if available.
This 11-year-old client is a friendly, caring boy who enjoys his electronics and sports like basketball and soccer. He lives with his adopted dads in outer NW Portland, and needs a friendly, consistent DSP to help him gain a better understanding of his place in the world. He's working on gaining skills in socializing with peers his age, self-care/hygiene, among other ADLs/IADLs. There is potential for tantrums when things don't go his way, but his previous/now on-call DSP has had very few problems like this while working with him. A potential DSP should give routine reminders for tasks he's working on, bring positive energy to their interactions, and provide redirection for his behaviors. Mileage reimbursement available.
