About the Role

Schedule:  Weekdays: 6:00am-7:00am and 3:00pm- 9:00pm and Weekends: open hours. (Any support during the above hours is helpful).

Client is a happy 9-year-old boy. He is non-verbal and uses a communication device to express needs and wants, as well as body language. Family states that client loves being outside, and enjoys walks to the park, where he can run and play. He enjoys trips in the car and going on errands. Client has little awareness of danger, and needs close supervision when outside, as well as in the home, where he may play with things that are unsafe. Food and eating support is necessary, as client is unable to chew some solid foods, and has most foods blended for him. Other duties include toileting, dressing, and hygiene support

Requirements

Daily Requirements: 

  • Scheduling – each DSP has a set schedule with the assigned client(s) 

  • Smart phone – use a cell phone to clock in/out for visits and complete the daily progress notes. 

  • Patient, Kind and Positive – caring for clients with disabilities requires someone who can be patient, support the client through kindness and understanding, and provide positive reinforcement throughout the shift. 

  • Driving – depending on the client, they may need to be driven to community events or appointments.  Valid license and insurance required if driving will be needed.  

  • Support – develop and maintain positive working relationships with the assigned client(s), their families and the FRR Support Manager
