About the Role
Schedule: Monday's 3pm - 6pm, Tuesday's 8am - 6pm, Wednesday's 2:30pm -6pm. Thursday 8am - 6pm and Friday 3pm - 8pm (could be until only 6pm some Fridays), The client needs care on one weekend day 10am5pm.
Client has Tuberous Sclerosis, multiple seizures a day, and very few gross motor skills. He can walk and use his hands but does not do stairs alone, use utensils, or feed himself alone. He likes getting into everything and needs constant redirection. He is all about sensory: he is always looking for things to grab, smell, touch, play with, and put in his mouth.
DSP requirements: They strongly prefer someone who can drive, take him to occasional places but especially pick him up from school. Someone who is LGBTQ+ friendly, patient, willing to support what his therapists at school are doing, give him experience like going outside on walks and experiencing new scenes and textures. Someone will be a companion for him, socialize with him, always watch him, keep him safe since he's like a big toddler and doesn't know danger, and cook simple meals and feed him when needed. Eventually it would be helpful to have some help doing baths and things. Someone with experience, as he has medical needs and Autism. Specifically, seizure experience is preferred since he has multiple a day, and the DSP may need to help administer medicine in case of seizures that last longer than 5 minutes, which doesn't happen every time but is not uncommon.
